Cookie Statement
Nothing from a third party loads on pretrain.com until you have chosen. On your first visit we ask once, in a bar at the bottom of the page. Decline and the analytics, advertising and scheduling services on this page are never contacted at all.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies such as local storage let a site keep small amounts of data on your device. They can be strictly necessary (needed for the site to function), functional (remember choices), or used for analytics and tracking.
What loads before you choose
Only two things, and neither identifies you:
- Our own choice-remembering entry. Your answer to the cookie bar is kept in local storage under
pretrain-cookies, so we do not ask again on every page. It holds the word "ja" or "nee" and nothing else. - Vercel visitor counts. Our hosting provider counts page views without cookies and without following you to other sites.
One thing is worth naming separately, because it is not a cookie but it is a connection: our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. That sends your IP address and browser details to Google when the page opens. We do not consider the site usable without its typefaces, so this is not behind the bar. If that matters to you, a browser extension or content blocker can stop it.
What loads only after you accept
Accept, and these five load. Decline, and none of them is contacted:
- Google Analytics 4 (
G-37LZX9HS2L) — how many people visit, which pages they read, which route brought them here. - Meta Pixel (
1027070856592832) — measures what our advertising on Facebook and Instagram actually produces. This is an advertising cookie and it can follow you across sites. - Microsoft Clarity — aggregated heatmaps and session replays of how pages are used, so we can see where a page confuses people.
- Leadinfo — recognises from the IP address which company visited. It names an organisation, not a person.
- Calendly (United States) — the scheduler embedded on some pages. Decline and the scheduler is replaced by a plain link to calendly.com, which you can still use.
Our cookie bar
On your first visit a bar appears at the bottom of the page with two buttons: Decline and Accept. They are the same size and the same weight, and declining costs you one click, exactly like accepting — in line with the guidance of the Dutch supervisory authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). Nothing in the list above is loaded while the bar is still waiting for an answer. Refusing does not block any part of the site; only the embedded scheduler is swapped for a link.
Measurement that happens outside your browser
When you submit a form on this site, our server sends a conversion event to Meta so we can tell which advertisement produced the enquiry. It contains your email address, name and phone number in hashed form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent. Because this is advertising measurement, it follows the same choice: if you declined, or have not answered the bar, this event is not sent. Everything else that happens with your enquiry — that we receive it, reply to it and keep it in our own records — happens either way, on a different legal basis. See our Privacy Policy.
How to control cookies and withdraw consent
- Change your mind here. reopens the bar so you can switch. Already-set cookies from a previous "accept" are not removed by this; clear the site data in your browser for that.
- You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Browser help pages explain how.
- Clearing this site's cookies and site data also clears your stored answer, so the bar will ask again on your next visit.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything that happened while consent was in place.
